How to do it
- Lie on your back with the low back pressed to the floor and legs straight.
- Brace the core and place the hands at your sides for support.
- Raise the legs until the hips are flexed near 90 degrees.
- Pause briefly at the top with the pelvis tilted slightly upward.
- Lower under control without letting the heels touch the floor.
- Reset the brace before the next rep.
Watch for
- Swinging the legs to create momentum.
- Letting the low back arch off the floor at the bottom.
- Bending the knees to shorten the lever.
Breathing
Exhale as you raise the legs, inhale as you lower.
Tip
Reduce the range or bend the knees slightly if the low back lifts before the legs are down.
