Reverse Wrist Curl exercise demonstration

How to do it

  1. Sit with the forearms supported on the thighs or a bench, palms facing down.
  2. Hold the dumbbells with the wrists just past the edge of the support.
  3. Let the backs of the hands drop toward the floor under control.
  4. Lift the backs of the hands as high as the wrists allow, keeping the forearms still.
  5. Pause for one count at the top.
  6. Lower slowly back to the stretched position.

Watch for

  • Forearms lifting off the support.
  • Bending the elbows to swing the weight up.
  • Gripping so loosely that the dumbbell rolls in the hand.

Breathing

Exhale as you lift, inhale as you lower.

Tip

Start lighter than your wrist curls, since the extensors are weaker. Sets of 15 to 20 keep the load light on the elbow.
