Torso Rotation Machine
Sit upright in the rotary torso machine with your hips fixed against the seat and pads. Brace the abs, grip the handles, and rotate through the torso to one side without bouncing or forcing extra range. Return under control and repeat evenly on both sides to train the obliques.

Equipment

How to do it
- Set the machine arm to your weak side and adjust the seat so the chest pad supports the upper torso.
- Lock the hips in by squeezing the knees against the pads.
- Brace the core and rotate the torso through the available range.
- Pause briefly at the end of the rotation.
- Return under control to the start without letting the weight slam.
- Match the reps on the other side.
Watch for
- Letting the hips turn with the torso.
- Yanking the handles with the arms.
- Forcing extra range past the natural rotation limit.
Breathing
Exhale through the rotation, inhale as you return.
Tip
Pick a weight that lets you stop on command at any point in the range. Bouncing through end range stresses the low back.
