Cable Tricep Kickbacks
A one-arm triceps extension at a low cable, with the torso leaned forward and the upper arm held at your side. The cable keeps tension on the triceps through the whole range, unlike a dumbbell kickback. Use it as a finisher after heavier pressing.
Updated

How to do it
- Set a D-handle on a low pulley and grip it with one hand.
- Step back and hinge the torso forward to about 45 degrees.
- Brace the free hand on the machine frame.
- Pin the working upper arm against your side, parallel to your torso.
- Extend the elbow until the arm is straight and points behind you, then squeeze the triceps for one count.
- Bend the elbow back to about 90 degrees under control.
Watch for
- Upper arm dropping or swinging to move the weight.
- Torso rising as the set gets hard.
- Shoulder rolling forward on the return.
Breathing
Exhale as you extend, inhale as you bend the elbow.
Tip
Start with the arm you find harder and match its reps on the other side.
